And The Future Is...

Jumpstartrunning Presents:

In The Long Run

IMPACTful THOUGHTS:

Hello Reader,

Many of you know that I chose "transformation" as my word for 2024.

For the past several years, I have chosen a "word of the year" and suggested that many of you do the same. (I would love to hear what you have chosen - hit reply and let me know!)

This concept is more than a New Year resolution - the word serves as a daily reminder - "what is your purpose today?"

I have learned - through my experience and yours - that runners and women have been underserved when it comes to midlife medical care.

Especially the women - myself included. This lit a fire within me (it wasn't just the hot flashes) to cultivate expert knowledge, and it is time to step up and make an IMPACT:

It was no accident that I am talking about my chosen word "IMPACT" in conjunction with curating this email on the last day of Women's History Month.

JumpStartRunning has evolved over time, and I am in a unique position to help runners, masters (35 and over) runners and athletes all over the world. I have spent the last twenty five years serving these runners and athletes - which I will continue to do. However, "In The Long Run", the future is female and the impact starts today.

Whether you run or not, "In The Long Run" will focus on running, longevity, women and wellness. What do you want YOUR journey to be like for the next 20, 30, or 40 years?

Keep moving forward my friends, one step at a time.

Coach Nicole

TEASER/WHAT'S TO COME:

Within the past five days, there have been two life altering (I promise I'm not being dramatic!) discussions that warrant further explanation/interpretation.

I will be sending another email THIS THURSDAY to go over details from both of these conversations. If you want to get a head start, you can find the information here:

BOSTON MARATHON 2025:

If I were to describe my training for this year's race, this pretty much sums it up!

I have a very unique run planned for tomorrow, and I'm sure my face will be similar to the squirrel.

Tell you all about it on Thursday as well - assuming no major cardiac events between now and then :)

If you (or someone you know) are interested in learning more about JSR Coaching/Injury or Performance Consult - hit reply, and we'll have a chat!

Let me know if you have any questions or requests for topics in these emails. Thank you so much for reading, and forward to your running friends as well!

Have a question or a topic request?

I WISH It Was Just A Calf Strain!

Jumpstartrunning Presents: In The Long Run IMPACTful THOUGHTS: (IMPACT is my chosen word for 2025 - what was yours?) Hello Reader, I know many of you have a great understanding of what it's like to set a big goal. Many runners often set a big goal that coincides with a race - whether it's trying to set a personal best, going a longer distance, or in my case - summer training with a goal of qualifying for Boston this fall. I decided to document my journey, and called it the "3:42 Project" -...

BolderBoulder Recap!

Jumpstartrunning Presents: In The Long Run IMPACTful THOUGHTS: Hello Reader, Well, it happened. My first BolderBoulder experience was yesterday and it was awesome, but to be honest, it also bummed me out. I was planning to volunteer - as a course marshall for the professional runners. Getting there wasn't the problem - I actually allocated enough time and parked without issue. I couldn't find my people and somehow walked 20K steps around the course: Didn't mean to "bandit" the course at the 5...
