What Does Sylvester Stallone Preach?

In The Long Run

Thoughts and BELIEFS:

(BELIEF is my chosen word for 2026 - what is yours?)

Hello Reader,

"Keep punching."

That's how Sylvester Stallone signs off his social media.

When asked why, he said: "Life is a fight, but we must never surrender. Never giving up is the ultimate victory. Keep punching."

Same could be said for a marathon.

For those deep in their fall marathon training; "Keep punching."

Throughout my twenty six years of marathon training, I've watched the complete Rocky and Creed collections while running on the treadmill.

Never surrender. Never giving up.

If the "dreadmill" is not for you, here's a Rocky Balboa playlist: ROCKY

Sometimes listening to a good playlist changes your brain chemistry so you "Keep punching."

Luckily, that recently happened to me during a challenging run:

For those that are not training for marathons, yet facing struggles or hardships; "Keep punching."

Core Burn In Seven Minutes:

Speaking of playlists, I created this for you, inspired by joy and pain.

I've been sore from it for the past two days, so you HAVE been warned...

One of my virtual clients told me she needed more core work.

I saw she had a big exercise ball in the room, so I had her try a few things with it.

SOMEHOW, a comment was made that she was using a big, blue ball and was "feeling the burn."

We both were laughing so hard, it intensified the burn even more.

Who says a workout can't be fun??

If you are up for a little torture, click on the video and there are 3 different moves in the playlist.

Click reply, and let me know if it brings you "joy and pain!"

In The Long Run Thoughts and BELIEFS: (BELIEF is my chosen word for 2026 - what is yours?) Hello Reader, Ouch. Actually, that's not what I said. Believe it or not, I didn't swear either. "I'm OK!!! I said it immediately and like a little kid, because I startled the two women in front of me as I bit it on the trail. I startled myself too. There was no great story behind this; which concerned me more than the pain of my upcoming shower. This photo is figurative and literal for how running has...

In The Long Run Thoughts and BELIEFS: (BELIEF is my chosen word for 2026 - what is yours?) Hello Reader, I wasn't planning to watch, but once I saw her on the court, I couldn't take my eyes off her. Serena Williams returned to Wimbledon. I've always admired her, as an athlete and subsequent entrepreneur. She almost died after the birth of her first child in 2017, and has had several health struggles since. It has been three years and a second child since she last competed. There were many...

She won a 250-mile race. Her uterus didn't fall out.

In The Long Run Thoughts and BELIEFS: (BELIEF is my chosen word for 2026 - what is yours?) Hello Reader, History was recently made by a runner who crushed an old course record by two and a half hours. This wasn't for a marathon. It was the distance of almost TEN CONSECUTIVE MARATHONS. This athlete is a SHE. Rachel Entrekin crushed the Cocodona 250, the first time a woman has ever won this race. Contrary to the myth and objection from the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) in the early '60s, her...
